Wedding Officiant Service Agreement
AGREEMENT
This Wedding Officiant Service Agreement ("Agreement") governs the professional wedding officiant services provided by Berjoh E. Fullilove ("Officiant"). By scheduling wedding officiant services, submitting a retainer, or signing the accompanying acknowledgment, the Client agrees to be bound by the terms and conditions of this Agreement.
The specific details of the Client's wedding services, including the ceremony date, time, location, selected package, fees, and any additional arrangements, will be outlined in the Client's booking request, booking confirmation, invoice, or other written confirmation provided by the Officiant. Those details are incorporated into this Agreement by reference.
SERVICES
The Officiant agrees to provide the wedding officiant services selected by the Client during the booking process. Depending on the package purchased, services may include a consultation, ceremony planning, a customized ceremony script, rehearsal attendance (if included), officiating the wedding ceremony, execution of the marriage license, and submission of the completed marriage license for recording in accordance with applicable law.
SCHEDULE
The scheduled Ceremony Start Time confirmed during the booking process shall be considered the official Event Start Time and not the guest arrival or invitation time.
Client agrees to make every reasonable effort to begin the ceremony within twenty (20) minutes of the scheduled Ceremony Start Time.
The Officiant will remain available for up to one (1) hour from the scheduled Ceremony Start Time. Any additional officiant time required because the ceremony begins late or extends beyond one (1) hour will be billed at $25 for each additional fifteen (15) minutes, or any portion thereof. This additional fee applies regardless of the cause of the delay unless otherwise agreed to in writing by the Officiant.
If delays exceed sixty (60) minutes beyond the scheduled Ceremony Start Time, the Officiant reserves the right to leave the Event if prior commitments prevent further waiting. In such circumstances, all retainers remain non-refundable, and additional fees may apply if the ceremony must be rescheduled.
CHANGES
Any requested changes to the confirmed wedding date, ceremony time, location, package, or other booking details must be submitted by the Client in writing and are not effective until approved in writing by the Officiant.
FEES AND RETAINER
The total fee for services will be stated in the Client's booking confirmation, invoice, or other written confirmation.
A non-refundable retainer equal to fifty percent (50%) of the total service fee is required to reserve the requested date and time. The booking is not confirmed until the required retainer has been received.
Preparation and planning services may begin upon receipt of the retainer.
The remaining balance, together with any applicable travel fees or approved additional charges, must be paid no later than forty-eight (48) hours before the scheduled ceremony.
Any applicable travel fees will be disclosed and approved before booking confirmation.
Failure to make payment as required may result in cancellation of the booking without further obligation by the Officiant to perform services. Any retainer previously paid shall remain non-refundable.
The non-refundable retainer may be transferred to a new ceremony date if the Client submits a written request at least seven (7) calendar days before the scheduled ceremony and the Officiant is available on the requested replacement date. If the Officiant is unavailable, any payments received beyond the non-refundable retainer will be refunded upon written request.
CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS
All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing.
If written notice is received at least seven (7) calendar days before the scheduled ceremony, any payments made beyond the non-refundable retainer will be refunded.
If cancellation occurs fewer than seven (7) calendar days before the ceremony, the Client remains responsible for the full service fee, excluding any travel expenses not yet incurred.
Failure to provide written notice of cancellation will result in the Client remaining responsible for all contracted fees, including applicable travel fees.
If unforeseen circumstances beyond the Officiant's control, including illness, hospitalization, accident, or transportation failure, prevent performance, the Officiant may attempt to secure a qualified replacement at no additional cost.
If no replacement can be provided, all payments received for officiant services will be refunded.
SATISFACTION GUARANTEE
If the Client is dissatisfied with the Officiant's professional services, the Client must notify the Officiant both by telephone and in writing within forty-eight (48) hours after the ceremony. Upon review of the circumstances, the Officiant may issue a full refund, including the retainer, if the complaint is determined to be valid.
CEREMONY ITEMS
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the Client is responsible for providing all items required for any unity ceremony or ceremonial enhancement, including but not limited to sand ceremonies, unity candles, flower ceremonies, handfasting materials, or similar ceremonial elements.
MEDIA RELEASE
Unless the Client provides written notice before the ceremony requesting otherwise, the Client grants the Officiant permission to use photographs, videos, testimonials, and stories relating to the Event for marketing, advertising, social media, website content, educational materials, and promotional purposes.
The Client waives any right to compensation, royalties, or other payment arising from such use.
MARRIAGE LICENSE
The Client is solely responsible for obtaining a valid marriage license, if required by law, and ensuring it is available at the ceremony.
The Officiant cannot legally perform a marriage ceremony requiring licensure without a valid marriage license.
PRIVACY
Berjoh E. Fullilove respects your privacy. Personal, financial, and payment information collected during the booking process will not be sold, rented, or shared with third parties except as necessary to perform services, comply with legal obligations, or process authorized payments.
